| Industrial-Organizational (I-O) psychology is concerned with the application
of the theories and principles studied in the field of psychology to the
problems faced by organizations. I-O psychology can be used to hire better
employees, reduce absenteeism, improve communications, increase job satisfaction
and solve countless other "human resources" problems. Unlike other types of
psychologists, we are not clinicians, counselors, therapists or psychiatrists.
Practitioners of Industrial-Organizational psychology seek to help organizations
identify, select and promote the best applicants, and train and evaluate
employees to maximize performance. |
